This morning Steve McCabe MP, Birmingham Selly Oak, visited Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School to make a promise for there Laudato Si Environmental Tree Display.
All the children, staff and Governors at the school have made promises for the Tree Display on steps they will take to look after the environment and they invited their local MP to add his own promise. The School’s Eco Team also gave Steve a tour of their sustainability projects, including their new bee friendly planting, their recycling projects and their eco board. The team shared their plans for future initiatives and explained how their work has been recognised by the Eco Schools Green Flag Award.
Steve McCabe MP said:
“Today I’m giving my Valentine’s to the Planet, making a promise to drive less and walk more, always remember my reusable water bottle and to vote in Parliament to reduce emissions and tackle climate change for Our Lady of Lourdes Laudato Si Environmental Tree Display.”
“It was a pleasure to spend some time with the school’s Eco Team, learning about their projects to increase sustainability at the school. It is great to see Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School getting young people thinking about our planet from an early age, it is wonderful to see them receive Eco Schools Green Flag award to recognise their achievements!”
