Easter Foodbank Appeal

Today I am launching my Easter Food Bank Appeal and asking, those of you who can, to join me, donating something daily in the run up to Easter as we have done before Christmas.

The Trussel Trust has said that people on Universal Credit in the West Midlands have needed to skip meals, with 40% of people, more than 225,000, said they had been unable to afford to heat their home on more than four days across the month and almost 1 in 6 people, more than 250,000 said they had needed to seek support from a food bank because they couldn’t afford the essentials

I have been raising your concerns in Parliament regarding the cost of living crisis, just last week urging the Chancellor to rethink the upcoming National Insurance rise. I wanted to do my bit to help in the community as well, which is why I am today kicking off my #EasterFoodbankAppeal.

From now until Easter, I will be putting an item per day in a box to collect for the B30 foodbank, based in Cotteridge. I would encourage those who can, to get involved and do the same, please have a look below for the items they are most in need of.

Please share with your friends, family and neighbours, comment if you are taking part and send me in your photos of your food collections. For any more information feel free to email me on: stephen.mccabe.mp@parliament.uk or ring my office on 0121 443 3878.
