Steve McCabe MP has blasted the Chancellor for his comments during his Autumn Budget today where he told the House of Commons he was providing ‘one-off’ funding bonus to help schools buy ‘the little extras they need’.
Steve McCabe MP (Birmingham, Selly Oak) has joined MPs, Councillors and Trade Union representatives from across the West Midlands, along with Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn, calling for an end to the Government’s disastrous austerity policy which has seen Birmingham City Council lose around 50% of its budget.

Today the National Audit Office has published a report revealing that the Government has no real “national picture of what [police] forces need”, “no common standards for measuring all demands for police services” and that, as a result, the existing funding formula for police services is not fit for purpose. The report says that “there are signs emerging that forces are finding it harder to deliver an effective service” and this is something Steve McCabe MP (Birmingham, Selly Oak) says is reflected in the experiences of his constituents.
