Steve Mcabe MP, Birmingham Selly Oak, is delighted to announce that Noah Minihane, from Dame Ellen Pinsent School, is the winner of his annual Christmas card competition.
As is now tradition, Steve runs a Christmas card competition, inviting pupils from primary schools across the Selly Oak constituency to design the front of his card each year. Picking the winner is always very tough, but Steve enjoyed taking the time to look through the entries from the 18 primary schools that took part this year.
Noah’s incredibly creative and imaginative design will be sent out across the constituency and around the country. This year’s competition was kindly sponsored by Oakton Estates and Aldi, and Steve was delighted to be able to meet Noah on a visit to Dame Ellen Pinsent School last week. Mike Oakton and Aldi Area Manager Andy Hooper joined Steve in presenting Noah with a certificate and a special prize of tickets to Dudley Zoo.

Due to the amazing generosity of business’s from across the West Midlands, Steve was also able to offer a prize to the child with the best design from each school that participated, which included; Cineworld Broad Street, MAC, Rush UK, Teamworks Karting, Thinktank, Cadbury World, Planet Ice Solihull, Fired Crafts, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Winterbourne House and Gardens, Birmingham City Football Club, West Midlands Safari Park and Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club – wow!
Steve McCabe MP said:
‘Congratulations to Noah on his wonderful design, and to all of those who took part, it is always very difficult for me to pick a winner given all the great entries that are submitted.
Noah’s creativity really caught my eye this year!
I would like to thank Oakton Estates, Aldi UK and all the prize donors, without the support of businesses such as these, this competition wouldn’t have been possible.’
Mike Oakton, Oakton Estates, said:
‘I have really enjoyed being part of Steve McCabe MP’s Christmas card competition for the 3rd year in a row, a big well done to Noah and Merry Christmas!’
Marius Manolescu, Regional Managing Director for Aldi UK, said:
“It has been a pleasure to support this year’s Christmas card competition with Steve McCabe MP, which provides a great opportunity for local school children to get creative and have some well-deserved Christmas fun”
