Steve McCabe MP encourages local groups to apply for funding for community projects.

Steve is encouraging local charities, community groups and good causes to apply for funding from Severn Trent’s Community Fund.

Applications are now open for Severn Trent’s Community Fund. The Fund will be giving away over £10 million to charities and community groups over the next 5 years. Applications are welcomed all-year round, which the first review panel meeting in March 2020.


The Fund will be looking to support projects that can demonstrate a clear link to one or more of their three elements of community wellbeing:

  • People: Projects that help people to lead a healthier life and gain new skills;
  • Place: Ideas that help create better places to live in and use; and
  • Environment: Schemes that will help look after the natural environment, give people greater access to that environment or help look after water.

They will also be encouraging projects that have a link to water in some way, such as river restoration, flood alleviation or sustainable drainage.
